It was a little bit like when I indulge in reality TV I know it’s not good for my brain, it’s more like a comfort blanket. There were no fancy writing styles in this book and so what? I’d argue that the plot was potentially on the weak side, but I liked it regardless. The relationship between Sawyer and Sully was so sweet and their banter really made me laugh, I could have read more scenes with the two of them. I think he played a big part in Sawyer and Fallon forming a friendship. He was moody and irritable and sometimes rude, but he was loveable and an old romantic. I don’t know how Fallon coped with that because I was getting frustrated by it as a reader.Īnother character I loved was of course Sully. The one flaw of Sawyer’s in my opinion was his insistence of holding out on any sexual activity. I don’t think he would have left Canoodle knowing that she had a negative opinion about him. He was so thoughtful and courteous, Fallon basically had no choice but to change her mind about him.

I wanted a happy ending and by the time I’d grown to love these characters, I was just as thrilled about their happy ending as they were. Of course, the ending was as predictable as any romance like this, but it’s what I wanted. I was surprised by how many times I laughed out loud reading this book but there were truly some fantastic one liners in there that had me cracking up. Runaway Groomsman delivered on all of those things and I really enjoyed reading it. Something very easy going, not complex, maybe a bit of cheese and if I was lucky a little bit of smut thrown in for good measure. This was just the kind of book that I was looking for when I was scrolling through Kindle Unlimited. The two form an undeniable bond but are Hollywood romances for real life? Or are they just for movie screens? That is until Sawyer starts to continuously prove her wrong and Fallon is forced to admit that first impressions shouldn’t always be trusted. When Sawyer arrives, she’s grateful for the small bit of income he’s providing whilst he’s a guest, but she immediately writes him off as a Hollywood hack. The cabins are in desperate need of renovation and she hasn’t got a clue how she’s going to save the business. Fallon is in charge of the business and she’s struggling to keep it afloat.

Sawyer finds himself in the small town of Canoodle and makes the local family run business of Canoodle Cove Cabins his temporary home until everything dies down. Leaving behind a media storm and lots of shocked friends and colleagues. He finds himself at the wedding of his ex-girlfriend and best friend and when it all gets too much for him, he makes a run for it. It’s a pity that his real life love life doesn’t live up to the romances he writes in his movies.

Sawyer is a Hollywood screenwriter so he knows a good love story when he sees one.
